This pivotal body comprises dedicated Co-Chairs and specialized Committee Chairs, each bringing a wealth of expertise and commitment to the venture. This team is charged with the pivotal responsibility of guiding the event’s vision towards successful realization.
Time Required: Varies based on planned events throughout the GoElizabethNJ250 event year and preparation. At the minimum, there might be monthly Administrative Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Time and dates of the sub-committee and work committees within the subcommittee will be determined by the Administrative Committee in consultation with the Sub-Committee members chairs.
Planning & Logistics Sub-Committee
Description: This sub-committee is the backbone of our GoElizabethNJ250 events, meticulously orchestrating the who, what, when, where, why, and how to ensure every resource is perfectly aligned. We welcome those with a talent for event planning, organizational prowess, and a passion for community engagement.
Time Required: Varies based on planned events throughout the GoElizabethNJ250 event year and preparation. At the minimum, there might be monthly Planning & Logistics Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Marketing & Promotions Sub-Committee
Description: Elevate the GoElizabethNJ250 legacy by crafting compelling narratives and harnessing a spectrum of media channels to foster enduring community bonds, engage new advocates, and secure widespread backing. You will leverage a spectrum of informational resources to connect with the community, engage new partners, and build enduring support. Your expertise in advertising, writing, marketing, storytelling, public relations, or sales is instrumental to shape the narrative that celebrates our shared history and future.

Description: This committee will dive deep into the roots of New Jersey’s birthplace. It will illuminate the rich the rich, diverse tapestry of Elizabeth’s past where New Jersey’s story began. It will help us celebrate Elizabeth’s past and its revolutionary significance. This committee will help us unfold and share Elizabeth’s story—a journey where every chapter is a cornerstone of our state’s diverse heritage and a revolutionary history that shaped our nation.

At the minimum, there might be monthly History & Education Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Fundraising & Sponsorship Sub-Committee
Description: This committee will help us turn our vision into reality by leveraging diverse fundraising strategies and securing pivotal sponsorships. The strengths of this committee lie in grant writing, financial acumen, or cultivating partnerships. Everyone has something unique to offer and/or a unique way to offer it.
Time Required: Varies based on planned events throughout the GoElizabethNJ250 event year and preparation. At the minimum, there might be monthly Fundraising & Sponsorship Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Time and dates of the sub-committee and work committees within the subcommittee will be determined by the Fundraising & Sponsorship Sub-Committee members in consultation with the Administrative Committee.
Responsibilities
- Researching the community for potential sponsors and creating a sponsor database
- Writing a Letter of Solicitation to sponsors; Solicitation Letter
- Researching the criteria (if any) for financial requests (Foundations and Corporations have clear mandates for giving)
- Sponsorship Fees & Levels of Recognition
- Establishing recognition for sponsorship including on-site participation, arranging a “thank you” reception or Letter of Gratitude
- Assessing the success of the Sponsorship Program
- Will liaison with the Planning & Logistics Committee to formulate fundraising needs.

Volunteer Management Sub-Committee
Description: Volunteers are the backbone of any event. The success of our events will be possible because of the volunteers assisting with the planning and execution. This committee will create a Volunteer Management Plan to ensure a successful volunteer program.

At the minimum, there might be monthly Volunteer Management Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Emergency Preparedness Sub-Committee
Description: Public safety is a key component when planning an event. It is important to identify potential risks during the planning and create a plan to assist in mitigating those risks. All Board and/or Organizing Committee members and volunteers must have a complete understanding of the procedures and protocols should an emergency arise. If you have a background in public safety, emergency management, or risk assessment, we want you.
Time Required: Varies based on planned events throughout the GoElizabethNJ250 event year and preparation. At the minimum, there might be monthly Emergency Preparedness Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings. Evaluation Committee Sub-Committee
Description: Evaluation committee is an important component of any event. It allows organizers to reflect on what worked well and to identify areas of improvement for future events. Several stakeholders are involved in the planning and execution of events including Board and/or Organizing committee members, vendors, entertainers, suppliers, sponsors, and event attendees. It is important that each stakeholder be given the opportunity to provide feedback about what worked and what did not, and this is where the Evaluation Committee comes in.
Time Required: Varies based on planned events throughout the GoElizabethNJ250 event year and preparation. At the minimum, there might be monthly Evaluation Sub-Committee meetings and depending on how the sub-committee does it work, it might require weekly meetings.
