The very first GoElizabethNJ250 Community Info Session was held to introduce the vision behind the City of Elizabeth’s commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary. This kickoff event brought together community leaders, residents, and stakeholders to learn about the campaign’s objectives, brainstorm ideas, and explore ways to participate.

Attendees got a first look at how Elizabeth would tell its story through blogs, videos, educational events, and historical preservation projects. The session also introduced the committee structure and volunteer subcommittees that would help bring the campaign to life.

The meeting laid the groundwork for everything that followed — including content creation, outreach strategies, and partnerships with local schools, churches, and organizations.

This was the moment the city began to write its chapter in the story of America’s 250th.
